We are not just a restaurant—this is a passion project, a lifelong dream, and a labor of love. Founded and managed by Leah Nolasco Alob, Alquemie was born from a simple idea: opening a cozy café. But as fate would have it, that small dream grew into something bigger—a full-service cafe and bistro where great food, coffee, and drinks come together in a warm, welcoming space.
For Lei and her husband, Alquemie is more than just a business. With four kids growing up fast, they wanted something that would keep them inspired, engaged, and doing what they love for years to come. More than that, they wanted to create a place where people could gather, relax, connect, and experience food made with heart.
The name Alquemie is deeply personal. An avid reader of self-help and spiritual books, Lei kept encountering the word alchemy—a concept of transformation, of creating something extraordinary from simple elements. To her, that’s what great food and hospitality are all about: blending passion, skill, knowledge, and the desire to serve and craft an unforgettable experience.
